2017 Auditions - The Baden Street Singers

2017 We are very excited to announce that this year there we will be under the combined direction of three excellent conductors. Our current director, Lionel Pierson will be joined by Adam Brockway, previously the director of acclaimed ensemble Naya Chorale and Perry Joyce who hails from the WA opera chorus, Giovanni consort, and Rejoice Gospel Choir among many others. Each of these directors is an exceptional conductor with a wealth of musical knowledge to impart and working with them promises to be an incredibly rewarding experience so we urge you to jump at the opportunity! Rehearsals Rehearsals are currently held on Wednesday nights, 7:00 to 9:30. Attendance is required to all rehearsals, except in significant circumstances. (You are encouraged to discuss  Seasons Our schedule in 2017 will consist of 3 seasons: Season 1 will focus on a range of a cappella genres and involve participating in the Denmark Festival of Voice (2nd – 4th June 2017) culminating in a concert in Perth midyear. Season 2 includes preparation for the Pan Pacific Barbershop Convention in Sydney from Wed, 27 Sep to Wed, 4 Oct 2017 (approx) as well as a performance of our contest repertoire in Perth before our departure.  Season 3 is our Christmas season where we will aim to do a variety of Christmas performances for different events around Perth culminating in our own Christmas concert in late December. For each season there will be a participation cost of $50 per member or a cost of $120 for the year. Anymember who auditions at the start of the year may participate in however many seasons they choose. Rehearsal night will be chosen based on the availability of prospective members and will be announced once the audition process is finalised. At the moment we are leaning towards Tuesday nights. Auditions Auditions will be held on request. Please email us and we will do our best to accommodate you.  Audition requirements are: - 3 excerpts (to be supplied upon email application) to be sung with an audition quartet, 2 of which must be sung form memory - a simple range test -an optional solo piece if you'd like to be considered for solo's later on Do not hesitate to contact us with any queries!
